Young Active Research in Endocrinology (YARE)
The Young Active Research in Endocrinology (YARE) initiative was founded by young endocrinologists during the Annual Meeting of the German Society of Endocrinology in 1999.
The aim of our initiative is, to boost the interaction, communication and collaboration within young researchers in their initial phase to take their career to the next level. To provide a platform for young endocrinologists, YARE organizes an annual YARE Meeting as well as a YARE Session during the annual meeting of the German Society of Endocrinology (DGE). Furthermore, the YARE Board is co-organising the ESE Summer School in Endocrinology.
We do not strictly define young by age, but rather as “new in the field of Endocrinology”, offering the YARE membership to all kind of students (Bachelor/Master/MD-/PhD students), medical resident and PostDocs.

YARE & DGE
We work closely together with the German Society of Endocrinology (DGE) and since 2013 YARE is a DGE consortium. With the support of the DGE, the YARE initiative is able to provide a Best Thesis Award (Dissertationspreis) as well as up to 5 YARE Travel Grants (Reisekostenstipendien) exclusively for our members (from Germany or working in Germany). Furthermore, the DGE provides travel grants for young endocrinologist (with a DGE membership), which are planning to attend national and international conferences with an active participation. The Associated DGE Membership (Assoziiertes Mitglied) costs 40 EUR per year for in-training members (regular membership costs 190 EUR).
On international level we are networking in an ongoing, close collaboration with the European Young Endocrine Scientists (EYES) as well as several national young endocrinologists initiatives.
